2009.02.23, 24, 25 & 26

Oh my, I am a bit behind with posting my photos. I did take them but had no time to upload them. So, here are my photo of the last 4 days (including today).

This photo is the texture on my walls up in the attic. I took several and I think they will be great to use for distressing photos. Still have to tweak the settings a bit. If they work out, I might make a freebie out of it for my other blog :)


My phone. I dont like it! haha I got this free and now I know why! haha It really is the worst phone I ever had. I need to buy a new one but most phones are so expensive (or is it my taste :)).


I have seen this sign a few times and knew it would end up on my 365 blog one day. When I took J to school yesterday I took my camera with me and took a photo. I love the rust and the texture. Gorgeous.


Our shopping centre was renewed like a few months ago (it was a huge project and took over a year to finish) and this 'sign' caught my eyes. I knew that with the right angle it would make a great photo and this is the only one I took this morning and I got it right in one go.


I will try not to take 4 days till my next post :)

Two photos for you today just because I couldnt make my mind up which one to post on the blog. We went grocery shopping this morning and when my DH noticed this domino set, he had to buy it. He loved playing with domino when he was a kid and thought it would be a great thing to do together with Jasper. As soon as we got home, the boys started to play:

I got my raindrop photo :) I went to the school playground with Jasper today and found some raindrops I wanted to photograph. While Jasper was running around the playground I took a few shots and could only hope I got the right one and I did...........

We just had some snow.....yes, some. I was able to capture it on photo when it started snowing and then it stopped again! I tried to capture the falling snowflakes on photo but that didnt happen so I had to pick a photo from the shoot I really liked and this was it. I think mainly because of the green in the background. So, here is my photo for today.......

The evening sun is beautiful over here at the moment so I decided to go up to the attick and take a photo from the gorgeous view I have there (my computerroom is located in the attick). I love the warm color of this photo:

A texture photo today. These are bricks from our house. Former owners used to have a shed connected to the house but the owners before us removed that. It left this mark on the outside of the house. I thought it made an interesting photo :)

Around 20.00 hours I realized I hadnt taken a daily photo yet !!! ARGH DH came to the rescue and pointed me to my wilted tulips. That was it. I got my p&s camera and took a few photos. I do notice that my photos tend to be grainy with the p&s when it's too dark to take the photo but I do think the photo still turned out OK.

Today's topic of the photo was easy. Jasper still loves his playmobil and our livingroom floor is covered in playmobil at the moment :) I love the concentration on his face when he plays with it. It's the only toy he can play with for a longer period so I dont mind my livingroom floor being covered at all. As long as he ejoys himself.

A new hobby has hit our family :) My husband, his brother & their dad have discovered Radio Controlled Helicopters. It started two weeks ago when they went to this big market in The Netherlands called 'De Bazaar' in Beverwijk. You can buy so many different stuff there and amongst the stuff there were RC helicopters. They all bought a fairly cheap model. One week later, they all went to a store and bought a more expensive one (actually my husband & his brother got theirs from their parents).

Anyhow, to make a long story short. Today was the first day they went outside with their helicopters and I had to make photos :) Because there was too much wind all three helicopters 'crashed' but I did manage to get these shots:




The blue one is from my husband, the red one from my father in law and the yellow one from my brother in law.

I dont know what happened yesterday. I totally thought that I had posted my photo........but I hadnt. Strange. So, today I owe you two photos:

Yesterday you could see icecrystals everwhere so that became my subject for that day.


Today, it rained. Blegh. Really, I hate rain especially when I have to go out. I dont have a drivers license so I use my bike to go everywhere and I just hate it when I get totally soaked from the rain. Not a lot of fun. I wanted to capture a few raindrops but that didnt happen. I will photograph a raindrop this year........promise :)

Today a very colorful photo. We have this little bowl of chocolates on our table and I am still surprised that there still are chocolates on it :) I took this photo with flash and that's what made the colors pop out. I love how it turned out. Here it is........


See, lots of color :) Jasper is doing better today. He stayed home from school. I haven't taken his temperature yet but am going to do that in a bit. If he still has a fever as high as 102.4F then I am going to call the doctor.

Well, Jasper is sick again. I have no idea what's wrong with him but when I took his temperature about 30 minutes ago it was 39.1°c (102.4F) and that is a fever. Poor boy. He is on the couch now watching a DVD. That's the best for him at the moment. My photo for today......


I hope he'll feel better soon. It's 'carnaval' this week and I know he has been looking forward to being a fireman friday (it's when they celebrate 'carnaval' at school).

OK, its official. We watch way too much Miami Ink on the Discovery Channel. When I went to pick up Jasper from school about one hour ago he had 'tattooed' himself at school. We are kinda used to it. He does that from time to time but we catch it early so it's easy to remove the ink from his face. Well, not this time! LOL He doesnt mind at all. He is proud of his 'tattoos'. Here is Jasper with his 'tattoos' :)

2. Well, the tag is about listen 6 interesting facts about me. Oh my, I'm lucky if I can think of so many! LOL

My facts......

1. I have a soft spot for tattoos & piercings. I have three tattoos myself and used to have piercings (lip, nose & tongue). I would love to get my 4th tattoo at LA Ink. Corey is awesome with black/grey tattoos (my favorites).

2. I almost died in 2004 after surgery complications. The surgery I had was a Heller Myotomy and during the surgery the surgeon made a little booboo and I ended up with a perforation. Fixed it but let's just say it burst open again. Not good. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up in ICU after a life saving surgery and fast forward, I am still here :)

3. I collect pens. See, dont think you knew that about me. I've always had a thing about pens and it is driving my husband crazy! LOL

4. I'm a sucker for Lionsgate movies (SAW, Midnight Meat Train). It's not that I like the blood but I love the unexpected endings in those movies. Esp. with SAW 1. That is still my favorite of the 5.

5. When I was younger I used to love the goth look. I wasn't a total goth but I did have black clothes, dark make-up, long black hair. I still love black shirts and I sometimes put on the dark eye make-up. This probably goes with my nr. 1 fact :)

6. I have more friend online than I have irl. I dont make friends easily at all. I am quiet and I'm pretty much what you call a loner. I have two best friends irl which I would love to see more but with family and my chronic illness, it's difficult.

When I opened the curtains of my sons bedroom this morning I saw my daily photo. We had some frost last night and that resulted in a really beautiful textured layer of frost on the roof of our shed. I couldn't go outside yet, I was (and still am! LOL) still in my pyjama's but I got my EOS 450d, opened the window and took a few photos. This was my favorite..........


Just gorgeous texture of the thin layer of ice and some moss.

Yesterday I had a tough day. I was very emotional and my son noticed that and took advantage of it. He pushed every single wrong button and it wasnt fun around my house yesterday at all. Hopefully things will be better today after I pick him up from school. I did take my photo. I have ventured outside again. Here are my photos of yesterday & today:

There is a huge hype going around in The Netherlands at this moment: soccercards! You get those free with a certain amount of $$$ of shopping and you need to complete an album with 270 cards! Let me tell you, it's a big task. We are getting there. I think we still need around 70 cards but it is getting more difficult each day. Today Jasper was surprised by his grandmother with 13 bags (which means 65 cards!) of soccercards. He was so happy. His joy quickly faded away when we had like 50 double cards. Poor boy. I will make sure that he gets his album complete though. Just got to find some swap-sites online (for the Dutch readers amongst us.......if you dont do anything with your AH soccercards, please email me ;)).

Jasper loves to play games. Computer games (PC, Wii, DS, PSP) but also boardgames. When I went to pick him up from school this afternoon he asked me if we could play this game called 1 2 3 Plop. It is a really nice game with a dice & puzzle pieces so it was fine by me. Guess who won? My boy beat me! LOL


On the photo you can see Kabouter Plop. He is a pretty big tv show character over here in The Netherlands & Belgium. Eventhough Jasper is 5, he still loves this game (the show is getting less popular :)).

I told my husband last night that I was pretty proud of myself making it through the first month of Project 365 :) I also told him, only 334 more photos to go. haha

My photo for today has to do with Carnaval. I think you can compare it with Halloween. All the children dress up and have fun. No trick or treating though. Just having fun dressed up. I bought Jaspers costume early. I bought him a fireman outfit. It was the theme for his birthday party last year so I knew he'd be excited about it and I was right. We had to see if I ordered the right size for him so when he tried the costume on, he didnt want to take it off anymore :)


Also another photo of my new bag. This one shows the paisley print off a bit better, I think. Jasper still doesnt agree with my choice though :)
