I have a confession to make. I have several addictions in life. One of them is handbags! I do have to say that I love handbags, but I dont buy new ones all the time. Today I had the best excuse to buy a new one though. Jasper started swimming lessons and the bag we used for that wasn't big enough so we needed a new one. YAY I had seen one at Kruidvat (a store here in The Netherlands) and it was dirt cheap and really nice. It is an Esprit bag (they also make my favorite jewelry) so I knew I had to buy one and I did! It is gorgeous. It is grey with pink motivs on it. Love love love love love it. Jasper doesnt like it but I am carrying his bag to the swimming lessons so it was my decision :) haha

I am early today. I have lots to do and not sure if I have time later today to update the blog so went outside, took some photos and here is my photo of the day. It's freezing again over here in The Netherlands and I noticed these beautiful icecrystals on the window of our little shed:


Isnt it gorgeous? I also love the fact that you can see the reflection of brown leaves in the window. It just gives the photo that little bit extra.

When I went to bed last night I remembered I completely forgot to update my 365 blog. Oops. I did take photos so I will be adding yesterdays & todays photo in this post:

Jasper has really discovered Playmobil the last couple of months. Before that it was all about cars but right now, Playmobil are the toys he plays with most. We bought him something new from Playmobil today and he loves it. He has a pirate theme going on at this moment so we bought him an addition to that.



I couldnt chose between the many photos I took so today I decided to add two photos to my 365 blog :)

I cant believe the first month is almost done. I can only hope I can continue the 365 project. Still loving it!

I dont like being sick one bit! As you all know I had the flu a few weeks ago and last friday I got this weird pain behind my eyes and horrible headaches. Guess what, I have sinusitis! I blame myself. I didnt use any nosespray while I had the flu so, my bad. So, because I spend the entire afternoon in bed yet again, I decided it was time to share a very personal photo with you all. My view when I am in bed! I love our bed. We bought it not long after we moved into our first house together. The bedding is new. I just bought that last weekend. I love the blue/brown color combination :)

I love taking baths. Our current bath isnt full length so I dont really like taking a bath in that one but once in a while I do take one. I love lots of bubbles but I do also love a good bath oil. The best ones, imho, are by Kneipp. We also use it for Jasper because he has eczema and oils are really good for his skin. My favorite bath oil from Kneipp is Almond Blossom. Aaah, so relaxing :)

I love flowers. I especially love my orchids. Any color, really. Right now I have a green/yellow-ish orchid plant but it has almost lost all of it's flowers so I need a new one. I think I'll be going with a pink one next.


It's time for me to go to bed and watch some tv. I love watching tv in bed. Very relaxing :) Night night.

Today we had to go to H&M to get some clothes for Jasper. He's not growing out of this clothes but some of his jeans really need to be replaced. We found 3 pair of jeans and a great shirt. One pair of jeans and the shirt are from Cars! I cannot believe how that character is still so popular with boys. When we got home Jasper wanted to put on his Car jeans and Car shirt immediatly :) haha So cute. He didnt want to pose for me so I made a photo of the label from the jeans instead.


I know he wants to wear the same clothes again tomorrow so I might be able to make a photo then :)

Today was a big day for my son. He had his first swimming lesson! He loved it. It will take him a while to get his diploma because he is not the most adventurus kid around but at least he is taking lessons now. Ofcourse I took my camera along :)


I love the look on his face. You can just see he's trying to figure out if he is going to like it at all. He was still standing on the side and other kids were already jumping in. He is not the jumping kind at all so when the teacher said he could go into the water.........he used the stairs :) I already knew he was going to do that but at least he went into the water!

Well, Edwin thought he was doing better but still wasnt feeling too hot so he decided to go to the doctor today. Believe me, that's a big step for him. He hardly ever goes so when he does go, he feels miserable. He came home and he told me that he has developed bronchitis! He got some antibiotics and hopefully that will make him feel better.

I wanted to introduce you all to another familymember of ours. Joris the Hamster. He's been a part of the family for a few months now. He's still a bit shy but oh so cute. I decided he had to be part of this project too :) It's not the best photo I ever made but you can see how cute he is.

I ventured outside! YAY I still had a rough night. Hardly got any sleep because of the coughing so my husband took Jasper to school and I went back to bed. I did go out to pick Jasper up from school! It was so good to be outside in the fresh air. I also took Jasper to school in the afternoon and that is where I took this photo. It is an art-project he was working on and it's a duck. He did tell me he finished the project when he was in school so I might be posting the finished duck later in the month (or next month) on this blog too.

Today a photo that has history attached to it. I was struggling to find a subject for todays photo and when I looked around my desk I noticed an 10 guilders note and decided to photograph that. We dont use guilders in The Netherlands anymore. Today we use euro's so it's great to have a 10 guilder note. A little piece of Dutch history:


I always loved how colorful the guilder notes were. The euro notes are so boring. I might photograph one of those too so you can see the difference.

Back to bed for me. I know this is not what Petra wants to hear but I am still suffering from the flu. I am thirsty so I am going to drink some a big glass of cold water too.

I've spent most part of the day in bed so I realized like one hour ago that I still had to take a photo for Project 365! I lighted some candles and all the photos were horrible but to be honoust, I didnt really mind since I am blaming the fever that I still have. This flu is really kicking my butt and I can only hope the end is in sight. Luckily my son is doing much better, he is going back to school tomorrow and my husband will be staying home another day but doesnt have a fever anymore. It's the coughing that is bothering him at this moment.

I wanted to make a photo today that doesnt have anything to do with the flu epidemic that has hit The Netherlands (and our household :)). While I was checking my email I noticed my two memory cards on my desk and that was it, my photo of the day. These are my 4.0gb Rebel XTi cards. You need at least 4.0gb with that camera. Especially when your husband decided to change the settings to RAW. That fills up these babies fast.

I think my big secret is coming out. I love to bake! After the brownies I decided it was time to make an Apple Crumble Pie. I think it has to be my favorite pie of all time. I tend to fool myself and tell myself that apple pie isnt as bad as all the other pies because it has fruit in it and fruit is healthy! haha Who am I kidding, right? As you can tell from the photo I already had a slice. Delicious :)


Jasper wanted a snack too. He is feeling better but still isnt 100% ok (thanks for all the get well wishes!) so he stayed home today too. Anyway, he wanted some popcorn. He loves the sound of the corn popping in the microwave.

This morning I got up at 7 (my normal time when Jasper has to go to school) and Jasper gets up at 7.30. When I went to Jaspers room around 7.30 I noticed that my boy wasnt his usual self. 5 minutes later I found out he had (well, still has) a fever. No school for him. I think he has the same thing I had a couple of days ago. Poor boy.


When we got downstairs I noticed the sky was beautiful. I rushed upstairs, opened a window and took this shot:


And as promised a photo of my very delicious brownies. They turned out great. I wish I could send you all some (Petra, I can always send you some with my next batch ??).



Back to my baby. Well, all he does is lie on the couch and watch tv. I was hoping he would fall asleep but he hasn't sofar.

I made brownies! There is one brownie fudge mix I love and that is Kroger Brownie Deluxe Fudge. They are so yummie. A friend send me a box a while ago and I asked Jenna if she could send me a few boxes.........and she did! She is the bestest :) The brownie is cooling down now but I might just post some photos tomorrow after I sliced them up in seperate brownies. Hmmmm.

I have a few hobbies and one of my biggest (besided scrapping) is music. This morning my DH & DS went out to testdrive our possible new car and I stayed home to do some cleaning. When I am home alone and I clean........I listen to music, loud :) I usually end up listening to my favorite band, Pearl Jam. Today was no exception. I listened to their album 'Live on Two Legs' and when I took the cd out of the cd-player I immediatly knew what my subject for Day 10 would be: the cd. Here is my photo for today:

A quick post from me. I am not feeling too well. I have been spending more time on the toilet than in bed last night so I am afraid I have the stomach flu. I took a few more photos outside today. It's still cold & white and I still love photographing the beautiful winter scenery.


Just when I finished my photoshoot for today I noticed I got a package from my sweeet friend Jenna :) Thank you, girl! I had to take a shot from the envelope. Don't ask me why but it's a thing I do when I get a package from abroad. So, my second photo for Jan. 08:

OK, it's cold in The Netherlands. Freeeeezing! It still means I can get lovely shots outside so I am trying not to complain :) Today I decided to challenge myself and take a photo with my 'point & shoot' camera. My Canon Powershot A710. Luckily for me, it also has a macro setting !! :) Here is my photo for day 6:

It snowed in the middle of the night so finding a good photo wasnt that difficult today. I do think that my EOS didnt like the cold too much. Lots of photos turned out blurry (or maybe I was shaking because of the cold ???). A few turned out great and it was hard to chose but here is my photo for day 5:

Weekends are not the best days to make photos. Esp. when it's raining outside. I braved the cold & rain when we were at my parents house and just had a stroll around the neighbourhood. Guess what I ended up with ?? A photo of our own car! My goal was to show how dirty it is but I'm not sure if that shows very well in the photo.


Hmmm, now that I look at it again it probably does show how badly our car needs to be washed! LOL

I wanted to take a photo outside (actually in the forest near our house) but it was too cold so I decided to just take some shots in my backyard. I had a difficult time chosing which photo to add to my blog but I was able to make a decision and here it is. My photo for Project 365 - Day 3:

This photo was taken when I was making dinner. I had a few amazing photo opportunities today but I didnt have my camera with me !!! Not very clever when you are doing Project 365. So, when we got home I decided to have a little browse around the livingroom and found a 'kerst-stuk' (sorry, cant remember the english name right now) that I love and decided to photograph that. Ofcourse with the flash it came out horrible !!!!! So, I decided to make my own flash diffuser. I used a bit of paper towel and it worked !!! Made my day :) Anyway, here is todays photo:

My very first Project 365 photo was taken a few minutes into 2009. It had to be fireworks for the first day. I wish someone had told me how difficult it is to take photos of fireworks though! I kept taking photos and I only got like 4 photos that were ok-ish. Here is my first photo of the year:
